An Amazing Weekend
Melissa came to visit this weekend, because she is off from school today. She arrived Friday night, and we enjoyed delicious s'mores. Melissa claims to have toasted the most delicious marshmallow she has ever had. On Saturday we went into downtown Philly, enjoyed some delicious cheesesteaks after a brief, accidental jaunt through the ghetto. Then, Saturday evening, although we were both extremely exhausted, we enjoyed a spectacular performance by Chris Thile, Bryan Sutton, and some other remarkable young musicianc at this really cool venue called World Cafe Live. If you are an NPR fan they usually broadcast these perfromanced on Saturday nights. Good stuff. Yesterday we spent the entire day at the ovewhelmingly large King of Prussia mall. We learned some lessons in public transportation, went into sensory overload, and had a wonderful time. We got back to the dorm around 8, and I then had to abandon my poor sister in my lonely dorm room to go to the library to write some major papers that I hadn't yet gotten to. I crashed sometime around 2, but luckily the really important paper isn's due until 5 this evening so I have some time. Speaking of which, I should probably get started on that now. I really needed that little dose of family, and it was so great seeing Melissa and spending some one on one time just with her in the absence of Schubert competition and buffering each other from the parents!
